Hank Schlinger

Originally from Dallas, Texas, and currently residing in Los Angeles, Hank (both as a solo artist and with his band) has taken center stage at a number of venues in those cities as well as in Massachusetts and Europe.

Hank blends memorable melodies and catchy hooks in songs inspired by folk, blues, and classic rock. The guitar-driven compositions in Hank’s cross-genre catalogue range from heartfelt ballads to energetic rockers.

Musical Influences

Hank’s musical influences include The Beatles and other bands from the British Invasion (Kinks, Who, Yardbirds, Zombies), as well as American bands (CSN&Y, Moby Grape,  Lovin’ Spoonful, Youngbloods), and songwriters such as Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Stephen Stills, James Taylor, and Neil Young). Hank’s finger-style country blues playing is heavily influenced by John Fahey and Reverend Gary Davis. If Hank had a radio program, the playlist would be a lot like Tom Petty’s “Buried Treasure” on SiriusXM.

Hank’s critically acclaimed debut solo LP, “One More Invention,” received positive reviews from several publications, including L.A.’s BAM Magazine, for its songwriting and musicianship. Songs such as “Woman of the Earth,” “One More Invention,” and “Love Is Not Enough” have received substantial college radio airplay.

Hank followed “One More Invention” with a five-track EP recorded at Clear Lake Audio in North Hollywood and then another four-track EP recorded at Screenmusic Studios in Studio City. Five songs from “One More Invention” and his EP were featured on KLOS’ Local Licks program.

His song “Mayhill Road” from the “One More Invention” album was featured on the “Ways to Live Forever” soundtrack on Warrior Records.

Hank has performed at local clubs, including the famed Crooked Bar, Canter’s Deli, The Gig, Genghis Cohen, Molly Malones, and Scruffy O’ Shea’s.
